Malaysian Deputy Minister of Communications Meets with Chairman of Cangyu Space

Kuala Lumpur, July 2, 2024 —Yang Berhormat Teo Nie Ching, Deputy Minister of Communications of Malaysia, met with Mr. LIU Wei, Founder, Chairman, and President of Cangyu Space this morning.

She warmly welcomed LIU Wei and his colleagues expressed appreciation for Cangyu Space's interest in collaborating with Malaysia.

 

Following LIU Wei’s introduction of the company’s partnership with Angkasa-X, She emphasized the Malaysian government’s strong support for the collaboration. “We recognize the critical importance of investing in space technologies and infrastructure,” she stated. “Cangyu Space’s relay satellite systems demonstrate robust capabilities with wide-ranging applications across Malaysia and the ASEAN region.”

 

She also noted, “Our 50 years of productive relations position us well to embrace a future of shared possibilities. I look forward to witnessing the incredible achievements that will come from this collaboration.”

LIU Wei explained that Cangyu Space and Angkasa-X have agreed to jointly build a shared satellite constellation and a real-time satellite remote sensing data trading platform to serve users across ASEAN. The platform will offer timely data for environmental monitoring, agricultural production, and emergency response.

 

He further shared that the two companies plan to establish a talent development platform to train hands-on professionals in the space sector.

 

Leveraging our technological strengths and resources, Cangyu Space will work closely with Angkasa-X to swiftly implement this project and inject strategic momentum into the region’s space ecosystem,” he added.

 

Also attending the meeting were Dato' Dr. Sean SEAH Kok WahFounder and Executive Chairman of Angkasa-X, Mr. Chen Rong, President of Minyin International Holdings Group, Mr. Liu Hanchao, Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Cangyu Space, and Mr. Yao Weizhi, Vice President of Cangyu Space.
